Cookie Policy

1. What we use

DotMD stores a few small values in your browser so the app works and remembers your preferences. Only the first is a cookie; the others are kept in your browser’s local storage, not as cookies:

• a session / authentication cookie that keeps you signed in (strictly necessary);
• a theme preference (the `dotmd-theme` value, in local storage) so the app remembers light or dark mode;
• a sidebar-layout preference (in local storage) so the workspace layout persists between visits;
• an analytics-consent preference (`dotmd-analytics-consent`, in local storage) that records whether you allowed or declined analytics.

2. Why we use them

The session cookie is necessary to sign in. Theme and layout values remember your preferences. The analytics-consent value controls whether Google Analytics 4 may use analytics storage. Analytics is used for product and business measurement, not advertising or cross-site advertising, and advertising signals and ads personalisation are disabled.

3. Third-party cookies

When you allow analytics, Google Analytics 4 may set or read analytics identifiers under Google’s policies. When you make a payment, checkout happens on Stripe’s hosted pages, and Stripe may set its own cookies under its policy. DotMD sets no third-party advertising cookies.

4. Controlling cookies

You can clear or block cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Clearing the session cookie signs you out; clearing the preference values resets your theme and layout. Clearing the analytics-consent value denies analytics storage after reload and asks for your choice again; content-free cookieless measurement continues. Questions? Contact us at
