Acceptable Use Policy

1. Scope

This policy applies to everyone who uses DotMD and to all content created, stored, or shared through it. Breaking it may lead to content removal or to suspension or termination of your account, as described in section 16 of the Terms.

2. Prohibited uses

You must not use DotMD to:

• break the law or infringe anyone’s intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights;
• store or distribute malware, or content that is unlawful, that unlawfully harasses others, or that sexually exploits minors;
• send spam or phishing, or harvest other people’s data without consent;
• attempt to access the Service, accounts, or content you are not authorised to access;
• probe, scan, overload, or disrupt the Service, or bypass its limits, rate limits, authentication, or other security;
• circumvent plan limits, fees, or usage allowances, including the AI token allowance;
• resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service except as expressly permitted; or
• use the Service as a general-purpose file store, content-delivery network, or backup system for material unrelated to your own documents; or
• use the Service in breach of applicable export-control or economic-sanctions laws.

3. Content standards

You are responsible for the content you create and share, and you confirm you have the rights to it. Do not post content that is unlawful, defamatory, or that violates another person’s privacy or confidentiality. If you invite collaborators, you are responsible for managing their access to your documents.

4. Automated access and AI

API and integration access must stay within the published rate limits — currently 100 requests per minute and 20,000 calls per calendar month per API key — and must not be used to scrape other users’ content. AI features must not be used to generate content prohibited by this policy or to abuse a model provider’s service. When you bring your own provider key, you are also bound by that provider’s acceptable-use rules.

5. Security research

We welcome good-faith security research. If you follow a responsible-disclosure process — testing only your own account and data, avoiding privacy violations and service disruption, and reporting promptly to us before disclosing publicly — we will not pursue action under section 2 for that testing, and we will not consider it a breach of these rules. 6. Copyright complaints

If you believe content on DotMD infringes your copyright, send a notice with the information required by applicable law (including the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act) — identifying the work, the infringing material and its location, your contact details, and a good-faith statement — to our designated agent at

7. Enforcement and reporting
